 North Herts Landfill, Holwell, Hertfordshire
This was the first phase of a new landfill site, owned by Biffa Waste. ELS took on the Main Contract to install a lining system into the brand new cell. Working alongside engineering consultants Weeks Consulting Limited, ELS installed 20,000m2 of 2.0mm HDPE membrane, with a Geotextile Protection Layer installed above the liner.
This lining system was installed on top of 20,000m3 of engineered clay, also installed by ELS. The project also included leachate collection and monitoring pipework and associated drainage layer, and took 10 weeks to complete |
